Before
A food diary. Keep a detailed log of everything you eat and drink for at least one typical week. Write down what you ate, the portion size, and the time of day. Record where you were, how you felt, and who you were with. Include exercise, type, intensity, and length of time. This information can help you and us identify problem eating patterns and solutions.
A medications list. Include all dietary supplements or herbal preparations you are taking. Not how much and how often you take them, or bring along the containers.
Your calendar. Be prepared to schedule a follow-up appointment
Your questions. You’ll forget them on the spot if you don’t write them down ahead of time.
During
Your first consultation will last approximately 90 minutes. During the consultation a discussion of your completed questionnaire in more detail will be assessed for your current nutritional status. Your health priorities will be discussed, and other health concerns you may have.
You will then be explained the steps you can take to support your health. A personalized dietary and lifestyle program will be constructed and you will be given relevant handouts and recipe ideas to support these suggestions.
After
After your consultation, if you should need further support with your program, a 50 minute follow up is recommended with in 2-3 weeks after the 90 minute consult. At least on follow up is recommended, but you can do as many as you feel to accomplish your goals. This is to assess the progress or your plan and to update or change any recommendations made. Further consultations will depend on your specific health profile and your individual goals.
