"Without a doubt, the best life changing decision I have made was to take a chance and try spinning and sports yoga at Become Fit. I figured I could spin since I had been a pretty decent bicycle rider; was not at all certain I could do yoga. Turned out I was wrong on both counts; spinning was much more challenging then I had anticipated, and although I was pretty klutzy at yoga at first, over time I have great improved my flexibility and strength and yes, occasionally a klutz but that is just me expecting more from myself.
From my first “chat” with Leah over email, to my first studio walk thru with Kim, to various training sessions over the past 8 months with some of the best instructors Fort Collins has to offer, I have continued love my workout sessions. The staff has never been pushy, never tried to make me look bad in class (heck, in the early months I did enough of that on my own), and they consistently have said “listen to your body” and “challenge yourself as each day is different”.
Become Fit is the ideal place for me. Spinning is so much more enjoyable looking out on Horsetooth Rock and breathing in fresh air. The Yoga Studio is equally pleasant with the light bamboo flooring and natural light streaming in. I think Become Fit is the best fit for me! I cannot think of a better place to consistently work on becoming a healthier person. I have a hard time keeping my pants up, have tightened my belt by 3 notches, and just feel great. "Six months ago I had gotten to a point where, physically, I was not where I wanted to be. I had moved here to enjoy the mountains; but when hiking I was out of breath and my legs hurt and I wasn’t up to skiing last year at all.
I didn’t like bike riding, but when I saw that Become Fit had a trial free week, I thought “Why not?”. Much to my surprise, I actually enjoyed spinning – and the yoga was a bonus. I am now nearly 15 pounds lighter and feel much better about myself. Even more exciting to me is that now I can hike and I don’t get nearly as tired as I used to, my recovery heart rate is much better and I am looking forward to many days of skiing this winter. And my flexibility and balance have greatly improved, even my posture is better. The instructors are very professional, knowledgeable and quick with individual assistance. Spinning and sports yoga is a great way to start my day – I feel energetic all day long.
